Here are some steps that you can try:
1. Turn Off the Haptic Feedback in Setings > Sounds > Haptic Feedback , if necessary
2. Turn Off the Vibration in Setings > Sounds > Vibrate > Never ... still depend to the user
3. Off the Wifi in Settings > Wireless & Network > Wi-fi (turn on if necessary)
4. Off the GPS in Settings > Location & Security > Use GPS Satellite + Use Wireless Network (if you're not gonna use it, just uncheck it) still depend on the user
5. Off the data Enabled in Settings > Wireless & Network > Mobile Network > Data Enabled (just check if you want to use the data network. Note: charges may apply)
6. Use GSM only , (So it won't use the Edge , 3g ,HSDPA etc signals). This still depends on the user (Note: If on, network's data charges may apply)
7. Turn off the Bravia Engine if not in need ( i don't know if this eats a lot of juice but it's better to be sure, isn't it? :) )
8. Avoid installing an application that claims that will give your phone a battery life. Well, they'll also eat some battery juices.
9. Theme Launcher's not that necessary. They slows your phone down but it's still depends on the user if they want a different look for their Mini
10. Brightness should be below 50%. The lower, the better.
11. Avoid Bright Wallpaper . The darker, the batter. But it still depends on the user.
12. Avoid using your phone while charging. That will heat your phone up.
13. If your phone's rooted, why don't you remove the unwanted, not useful and battery-eater apps?
14. This one's complicated and not an advisable thing to do. But if your know more about Rooted and Unlocked Bootloader, you may try to use custom roms that are not a hardcore battery eater. There are lots of custom roms over the net that you can try. (I still use the stock rom anyway and the bootloader's still unlocked so I can still avail the Sony's warranty)
