Xperia Mini ST15i sample images

Okay, yeah, I know.  This model's pretty old and small but I just want to share you the image quality of this little mobile android phone.

I can't tell the number of persons who are still using this model - but I know our number'sgetting smaller.  Though we can't get the latest updates and stuck on the grumpy old ICS, well that's fine.  Lots of developer's still considering this model on the supported phones on their tweaks.

Let me share some sample images that I took using this phone.

GUEST POST - Enjoy Your Holiday Without Worrying About Your Business

Ever felt guilty after imposing a leave on yourself? Surely, running a business can be very taxingand that's why you need time to unwind and remove yourself from the pressures of work. But you're the boss, right? So, why the guilt?

It isn't really impossible to pull yourself away from what you're used to doing. Just thinking about the things that could go wrong while you're away may be enough to intentionally miss that flight you've booked several weeks ago. Is it unfair to leave your hard-earned company to your employees while having a fun time swimming with the dolphins? Well, not really.

Assurance is something you can always work out. With the right preparation and initiative, youas a business ownerare bound to keep business processes smooth while frolicking at the best islands in the world. May you have a guilt-free holiday by taking into account these tips:

  • Delegate effectively. As a boss, it can be tempting to carry almost 50% of the work on your shoulders. It's not a sin to think you're invincible and extremely capablebut it surely is a factor that might potentially push your well-being to the back seat. Overworking can be distressing to the health, indeed. To avoid this, you have to temporarily distribute your workload to yourtrusted few.

Late Post: Kasambahay Law

Hey guys! Howdy! It's been a while since I last posted on my blog.  Anyway.. I've heard this news couple of weeks ago that even household employees can now take advantage of SSS, Philhealth and Pag-Ibig.  Great news, isn't it?  Kasambahay Law made this possible - and thank you for that!

Anyway, I've searched for some reading materials that would definitely help us understand what this law is all about.  You may want to check them below:

Below is a slide from SSS that will guide you thru registration:

SSS Kasambahay Registration Procedures from SSS Philippines

While below is a pdf file from DOLE to give you full understanding about the said Law.  You may visit the link to read the full PDF file: http://www.dole.gov.ph/files/Q%20&%20A%20on%20Batas%20Kasambahay%20(RA%20No%2010361).pdf

Good thing that this law has been submitted and made possible.  Domestic helpers also have the right to have their benefits.

Keep Your Blog Earning

Do you always want to travel? To eat? To draw? What about staying at home and sit in front of your computer? Well, you can earn with what you love doing - yes, whatever you love doing. Just share your thoughts and post it to your blog and let it earn every day and anywhere you are.

Sounds appealing, right? But how can you earn just by doing that?

Well, that is possible with Infolinks. Just like televisions, radio stations, billboards and newspapers, they do show some advertisements which benefit both the advertiser and the publisher. Same goes with Infolinks. They will post ads to your site and so you could earn.

So what is Infolinks?

Infolinks is an online non-banner or in-text advertisement that shows relevant ads to the words or topic that you are viewing or searching. It is easy to register to Infolinks. You can go to their website, and register your site as a publisher. Unlike other ads, they don't have minimum requirements for page views or number of visitors so even newbies can sign up as long as your site is in English or Spanish language - yeah, they currently support English and Spanish languages only.

Well guys, let me share you my story:

Happy Independence Day Philippines!

Let us all celebrate the 115th Anniversary of our country's Independence Day.

What's the Title?

I am an indoor person - a home buddy some say.  I prefer staying at home and enjoy anything that I can do inside.  Like drawing, painting, cooking and even watching TV.  From morning show 'til late night documentaries.. Yes, I got my eyes and time on them.

But everything changed when I tried to climb a mountain.  I never thought that nature can be more beautiful as I expected.  That it is lovelier than what the pictures in the book or even the net can show.  Yes, I fell inlove with mountains.. with nature.

Mountaineering changed my life.  How I percieve things or even how I foresee the future.  I thought that living is just eating three (or more) times a day, sleeping every night and doing good things to other people.  But no, we are here in this world to love every God's creation.  To preserve and share it to everyone up to the next generation.  It's been a month since my last climb (and it's a failed climb since we got lost) but it feels like it's been a while.  I missed the smell, the tireness, the sweats.. Everything!  Yes, this may be addiction.  And I loved to be addicted.

Failed Climb at Mt. Mabilog

May 26, 2013

It's been a month when we (me and two of my friends) last climbed a mountain - Mt. Humarap at Paete, Laguna, so we decided to do a Level 2 climb at Mt. Mabilog.  May 26th is the perfect date since it favored our sched and it was the day after our pay day ($$$).  However, it seems that the wheather don't want us to be there.  It rained hard the day before our hike.  But no rains or whatsoever can stop us.  We still go even we know that the trail would be very muddy.

Around 10:00 AM of May 26th, we reached the trail going to Lake Pandit.  We simply followed the galvanized wall that led us to the said lake. The place was so amazing that made me forget all the tireness of the long trip  - all the way from Cubao to San Pablo.

(images will be posted soon) - posted last May 28th
updated - June 3rd (images uploaded)

SAMSUNG ES95

(REVIEW)

Are you looking for a handy camera with a very good resolution for a cheap price?  Well, you've come to a right place.

We introduce you the new Samsung ES 95 that comes with 16.2 MP camera with bright F2.5 lens that can still give you good image even in low lighting plus the 720p (30 fps) HD video receording.

image captured using
Samsung ES95
With the introductory price of PhP4,500 (four thousand five hundred pesos), Samsung opened a gate for us to get a good-quality image specially for us who have a tight budget.  Okay, so what can we expect with this camera?

Well what I just mentioned earlier, it has a 16 Megapixels camera the same as what some of the DSLR's in the market have though its 25mm wide angle lens has 5x Zoom only.  On the other hand, it still provided us a good image even on zoom as the 2.7 inches (67.5 mm) LCD display helps us to review the picture before and after we capture the image.

It is nice that this camera model has variety of white balance mode such as Auto, Daylight, Cloudy, Flourescent, Tungsten and Custom suitable for different lighting conditions.

JB Conversation for ICS Xperia Mini

credits to Till-Kruspe
 of xda for the screenshot

Well if you guys want to experience the Jelly Bean Conversation look for your xperia mini but you can't let go of the stock rom installed on your phone, we've got a solution for you.

I've tried to search for an .apk file for this "jb conversation" but I actually failed to find one.  But thanks to xda's saqib nazm and erorcun for giving us this ported JB Conversation.  Yeah, yeah, the dual panel UI is all in our hands! Weeeeehhhh! - "DUAL PANEL UI"

Yes, you read it right. We'll get the dual panel look on our messaging given that our phone (xperia Mini) has a small screen.

Make sure that your phone's rooted and you have the CWM installed.

How to See the SD Card Contents on Xperia Mini

For newly bought or flashed Xperia Mini, you can't get to check the SD card contents from your phone. It's like you're outside your own locked car and you can't get in bacause you left the key inside.. You still need to plug your phone to your PC just so you can check your files.  Yes, there's the Officesuit but it's not updated so still won't help.

Well, we suggest to open your Play Store and sign in to your account (if you already have google account) or sign up to create one.

Fix for Flickering LCD of Xperia Mini (auto brightness)

If you guys are experiencing this flickering LCD on your Mini or when you go to an area which has a bright light, the screen of your Xperia Mini will be brighter, too and gets dim if you are in a dark area, well, you've come into the right place.

We.. the dilemma that you are experiencing is called auto brightness - a built-in feature which has a major impact on viewability, readability and even on the display or image quality.  It helps us to prevent from eye strain and headaches caused by too bright or too dim level of lighting.

If you want this feature off from your phone, well, you can find the answers from the Google Play Store.  Yup, the answer's in your smartphone already.

Jelly Bean look for Gingerbread Xperia Mini ST15i

This is related to my previous post, XPERIA MINI - what's your ROM?.

Well this is to tell you guys that I'm back to the old lovely Gingerbread v2.3.4, Baseband version -56 and Build number 4.0.2.A.0.42.

Prior to this is I used the Zelly Cream Rom from gagan (thanks gagan of xda for the wonderful zelly cream rom) after the SMART XPERIA JB/ICS rom.

Smart Xperia's JB/ICS's a little bit laggy that made me switch to the Zelly Cream Rom.  The latter's almost perfect and provided all my needs but we cannot accept the fact that ICS-based roms, whether it's the original or custom roms eats a lot of battery juice and drains my battery so fast.

HOW TO INSTALL THE JB/ICS ROM

This one's related to my previous post XPERIA MINI - what's your ROM?.

This will guide you on how to install a custom rom called JB/ICS.

Be reminded that this will only work on supported phones so do not try this ROM if you're not sure that your phone's on the list.  First, you should have your phone rooted, baseband-77 (that's under settings > about phone > baseband version make sure it's -77), stock ICS firmware .587 and has a CWM recovery.  Make sure that you have an SD card where you can place the file to flash.

You can follow this link for the tutorials..

**Thanks Danis Ariandi and Yarman2000 of XDA Developers for the wonderful rom.**

New Blog

Hey guys!  I have a new blog site.  You may want to check http://pictorya.blogspot.com/ to visit.

It challenges me on how far I can go with a P500.00 budget.  It doesn't have much texts so you can enjoy images and some calculations for you to see how well my budget run.  And biggest challenge is to capture good images with just the use of my phone.  (Well.. I have a camera but I prefer to use my phone)

Thanks.

XPERIA MINI - what's your ROM?

What is Rom?

Rom is a firmware that was released for our mobile phones.  These are the files and systems that cannot be modified and accessed as they may lead to some unknown issues.  Hence, they are locked.  But, if you rooted your mobile, you got the key of this closed door. :)

White Cross (Via Dolorosa - Antipolo City)

Holy Week's approaching.  Let us repent and ask for forgiveness of our sins.

While everyone's preparing for their vacation, why don't we have a church visit?  Or go to grotto maybe?  You may want to visit Antipolo's Via Dolorosa also known as 'White Cross'.  It is near the Ynares Sports Center which has the USA88 gasoline station as the landmark.

La Mesa Eco Park

It's March and vacation's fast approaching.  Of course, we can't just let the days pass without going anywhere to release all the stress that school (and office) brought.

Yesterday (11th March) was such a very boring day so me and two of my friends decided to go somewhere that would make us forget about the Metro even for a day.  Having a very tight budget, we're thinking about the Manila Ocean Park and La Mesa Eco Park and the latter got out side since it doesn't require more than a hundred bucks of entrance fee (tipid mode lang).

Tips for long battery life (xperia mini st15i)

Our Xperia Mini's a smartphone that has a lot of functionality.  And because of this, its battery drains a little bit faster compared to other phones.  Let me share some tips that you may try so you can have your Xperia Mini lasts longer than it uses to.

Here are some steps that you can try:

How to maximize the Internal Memory of Xperia Mini ST15i

After checking the blogs and threads about our phones, Xperia Mini ST15i, I learned a lot that I can share with you guys.

Just so you know, our phones have 320 MB internal storage and 512 MB RAM only.  Okay, the RAM's and Internal Memory's fixed but we can do something to maximize this internal memory.  As what I said on my previous post, you can delete some unwanted and not-so-totally useful apps that keeps on eating the memory of your xperia mini.

What to do with the xperia mini st15i

**Disclaimer: You are not obliged to do all these.  If you think that this is wrong.. Well.. okay then.**

What is the best thing to do after getting/buying/having the Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini ST15i?

Well, personally, try to root your phone..  You can actually do this with your other android phones anyway.  What is rooting?  It allows you to have an additional access to your phone.  You can delete the unwanted apps.  You can also remove the unuseful apps that keep on running in the background and drains your battery fast.  But, rooting can void the warranty.

MY SONY XPERIA MINI ST15i

At first, I was hesitant to get the Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini ST15i.  "What's good with this bulky and small screened device?"  I thought.  But this smartphone proved me wrong.  It is tiny but indeed powerful! *yey! lucky to have one*

With the price of PhP6,790 (PhP - Philippine Peso), I was able to get the 1 GHz Scorpion CPU speed and a 5MP Camera (with flash).  A scratch-resistant screen is also a plus.  Please click here to know more about this phone.
